Galvalume roofing sheet is popular for commercial, residential, agricultural, and industrial applications. They are also known as Bare Galvalume roofing sheets or GL sheets. GL sheets have a layer of Aluminium and Zinc on top of the base steel roof. It has an alloy coating of 43.5 % Zinc (Zn), 55% Aluminium (Al) and 1.5 % Silicon.

Zinc coating protects steel by way of sacrificial protection. Aluminium protects steel by way of barrier protection and since Zn-Al coating contains both Zinc and Aluminium, it provide both sacrificial & barrier protection to steel. Zn-Al coating contains also provides improved performance against chipping and other external damages
